The Lone Star State’s water supply is under duress. There’s an increasing demand for water due to rapid population growth. Millions of gallons of water are leaking out of old infrastructure. And climate change is leading to more droughts and altering precipitation. If a major, statewide drought were to hit the state and no water solutions are used, there would not be enough to meet demand.
To help the state boost and protect its water supply, state lawmakers are asking voters to approve $10 billion in new spending over the next decade.
