A Smokin’ Good Time: Rivertowne Summer BBQ 2025 Highlights
From free BBQ and fun games to exciting activities and cool booths, Rivertowne Summer BBQ 2025 was a blast! Held on August 23rd at Joel Weeks Park in Toronto’s Riverside neighbourhood, it was a celebration of community, culture, local sports, music and of course, delicious food!
A huge thank you goes to all the amazing organizations and community members involved in hosting the Rivertowne Summer BBQ, as well as our amazing supporters: City of Toronto, Woodgreen Community Services, Toronto Community Housing Corporation, Ralph Thornton Community Centre, Riverside BIA, The Laneway Project, Toronto Police Services, Councillor Paula Fletcher, Ed’s Real Scoop and Mavericks Netball Sports Club.
To those who joined in, thank YOU for coming out and spending your Saturday afternoon with us — see you all again next year!

The City of Toronto brought the Play Mobile to the party.
No party would be complete without free flowing cotton candy, right?
The free henna design was a hit among visitors of all ages.
Shoutout to the awesome volunteers at the BBQ, including our friends from BlessedLove!

The Laneway Project was there with fun activities and sharing about the newly co-designed community murals in the laneway nearby.
The Toronto Public Library, City of Toronto YSC, RTCC had fun activities including button-making and hoolahooping contests.
Talented hairdressers and barbers gave their time for back to provide schools cuts and ‘dos for local youth.
