Laura Rogora Onsights 5.14c and Redpoints 5.15a/b
Laura Rogora has just climbed Patanics 5.15a/b (9a+/b) in Rodellar, Spain. On her short trip there, she also onsighted Così Fan Tutte 5.14c. Each of these ascents is an achievement in its own right, especially given that her trip was less than a week long. Still, Rogora extended her impressive tick list, with ascents of No Pain No Gain 5.14d/5.15a, Così se Arete 5.14d on her second go, and onsights of Botanics 5.14a and La Reina de la Piscineta 5.14b.
“Rodellar never disappoints,” said Rogora on Instagram. “I came home with sore skin, great memories and even more love for this incredible place. The climbing, the atmosphere, the people, the warm welcome, and the amazing crew made these 5 days of climbing truly special.”
Patanics was established by Jorge Díaz-Rullo in August 2019. The steep 60-meter route links Pata Negra 5.14b, the crux of No Pain No Gain 5.15a, and the end of Botanics 5.14a. Díaz-Rullo initially proposed a grade of 5.15b. After Seb Bouin made the second ascent a couple of months later in October, he suggested a downgrade to 5.14d/5.15a. Since then, a hold has broken, and post-break ascensionists generally agree on a grade assessment of 5.15a/b, including Rogora. Rogora’s send is likely the first female ascent of the route.
Rogora is one of the best climbers ever on rock. She has now ascended 50 climbs graded 5.14d or harder. She is an extremely talented onsight climber. Her onsight of Ultimate Sacrifice 5.14c in Gorges du Loup, France in July 2025 made her the first woman in history to onsight the grade 5.14c. Only a small handful of climbers have onsighted 5.14c: Adam Ondra, Alex Megos, Patxi Usobiaga, Ramón Julián Puigblanque, Magnus Midtbø, and Domen Škofic. The highest onsight grade is 5.14d, which has been achieved by Ondra and Megos.
Rogora has had an incredible 2026. In March, she climbed Ondra’s slab climb Niobe 5.14c. The next month, she climbed Gabriele Moroni’s new route Mascella Serrata 5.14d in Arco, Italy, in only three goes. On a weekend trip to Passo Fedaia in Italy in early June, she redpointed Affinità Elettive 5.15a, sent Absinthium 5.14d (9a) on her second go, onsighted Tinnitus 5.14b, flashed Wrangler 5.13d/5.14a, and climbed Attraverso lo Speccio 5.14b on her second go.
