Manon Hily Clips the Chains on Trip Tik Tonik 5.14d

Manon Hily redpointed Trip Tik Tonik 5.14d in October 2025. The classic climb in the Déversé sector of Gorges du Loup, France was her first of the grade. The next month, she went on to climb her first 5.15a with her ascent of Punt’X. A new video of Hily climbing Trip Tik Tonik has just been released on YouTube, which you can view below.

Trip Tik Tonik was opened by Cédric Lo Piccolo in 2004, who proposed 5.14b/c. The route was upgraded to 5.14d in 2011 after Guillaume Lebret removed two glued holds, increasing its difficulty. The 30-metre route features a complex, steep crux with kneebar moves and pinches, demanding power-endurance and technical precision.

Trip Tik Tonik is a popular route with dozens of ascents. It’s been sent by many of the sport’s top climbers, including Adam Ondra, Magnus Midtbø, Joe Kinder, Daniel Woods, Seb Bouin, and Jules Marchaland, among others.

The route has seen a fair amount of action this year from top climbers, including Gio Placci, 12-year-old Leo Cea, Claudia Ghisolfi, and Laura Rogora. In July, Rogora sent the route on her third go on the same day she onsighted Ultimate Sacrifice 5.14c.

Hily is an active comp climber and balances this with hard rock sends and her vocation as a nurse. She has now climbed over 40 routes 5.14a or harder. In January of this year, Hily climbed Joe Blau 5.14c in Oliana, Spain. Other climbs on Hily’s ticklist inclue Era Vella 5.14c/d, La Bongada 5.14c and Coma Sant Pere 5.14c in Margalef, Spain, and La Ligne Claire 5.14c in Saint Léger, France. In November of 2024, she made the first female ascent of L’Enfumette 5.14c in Saint Léger.
