Mountain media in Italy pauses operations “in solidarity with the people of Gaza”

“On the occasion of the general strike in Italy today, September 22, affecting all sectors from transport to education, PlanetMountain is also pausing its activities in solidarity with the people of Gaza. The website will not be updated until tomorrow.”

On Sept. 21, Prime Minister Mark Carney said that Canada would officially recognise the state of Palestine, with an official press release reading: “While Canada is under no illusions that this recognition is a panacea, this recognition is firmly aligned with the principles of self-determination and fundamental human rights reflected in the United Nations Charter, and the consistent policy of Canada for generations.” Read more here.

PlanetMountain was launched in 1996 as a news source for everything climbing, sort of like the European version of Gripped. Check them out here. Read more about the Italian workforce strike here.
